Is it normal for the oil filter gasket to come off automatically and be attached to the oil filter?

when removing it? I hear people talking about making sure to remove the old gasket from the old filter but when I took the oil filter off, the gasket was still on the oil filter. Is it normal for the oil filter gasket to come off automatically and be attached to the oil filter?
99.9% of the time the gasket will stick to the filter because it has tabs that hold it in place and the block is a smooth machined surface. Is it normal for the oil filter gasket to come off automatically and be attached to the oil filter?
Often times if a thin film of oil isn't put on the new gasket, it will stick to the block when the filter is removed. If a new filter is ';double gasketed'; - it will leak - maybe not immediately - but at the most inconvenient place and time, the additional gasket will blow out of place and empty the crankcase in short order.
Absolutely normal, they're glued on at the factory, the replacement filter should show this 2b true
yes it is normal make sure to rub some fresh oil on the seal and it will always come off.
