How much Oil does an Oil Filter hold?

How much Oil does an Oil Filter hold? How much Oil does an Oil Filter hold?
usually the smaller ones hold about a half quart and the larger ones hold a quart. How much Oil does an Oil Filter hold?
Depending on the size, usually a quart or less. Check the owners manual for crankcase oil capacity. It may tell you the amount of oil required for an oil change with and without a new filter.
Depends on how big the filter is.... 1/2 to 3/4 qrt for most cars. Also depends if filter is mounted up or down. If its mounted down all the oil will be in the pan when the engine is off.
I would say an average filter holds about a half quart.
most dont hold much oil at all the question fo rme is why you need to know most cars hold four to six qts so add ofur and check crank and check again add if needed
Depends on its size generally half a pint or so? If your doing an oil change and want to know how much extra to add to compensate for the filter, dont... Fill until the oil is at the top of the dipstick, run engine for 2 mins, then switch off and check oil 1 hour later... Or fill oil filter then fit.... Good luck hope this helps
erm, probably about 350ml on average bearing in mind that they vary in size greatly.
